Abstract:
A new eyeless troglobitic pseudoscorpion, Microchthonius dernisi n. sp., is described from inside an underground ecosystem, i.e. the Skarin Samograd Cave, Dalmatia. The analyzed pseudoscorpion proves to differ from all other congeners. The possibility suggested that the subterranean false scorpions belonging to M. dernisi are relicts of an old north tropical pattern of the Mediterranean.
