Abstract:
Nature reserve Zasavica, due to its specific geographic position has an interesting and probably rich crustacean fauna. Investigations of ephemeral ponds of this region revealed the presence of three branchiopod species (Chirocephalus brevipalpis, Lepidurus apus and Cyzicus tetracerus) and nine ostracods (Candona aff. candida, Cypria ophtalmica, Cyclocypris laevis, Cyclocypris ovum, Ilyocypris sp., Cypris pubera, Eucypris virens, Bradleystrandesia reticulata and Heterocypris incongruens). This is the westernmost finding of C. brevipalpis and a first record of Candona aff. candida in Serbia. Most of the species are for the first time found south of Danube and Sava rivers.
