Abstract:
Ecological research recently undertaken in a small and well protected island of FYR of Macédonia, Golem Grad, revealed extremely high abundance of dice snakes. This suggests that under low human disturbance, snake population can be prosperous. Preliminary results also revealed some population threats through fishing and the syntopic occurrence of three colour morphs.
