Abstract:
Since it was described as new species, Salmo dentex (Hackel, 1851) was discussed whether or not is something different from Salmo trutta (Linnaeus, 1758). In Montenegro this species was related to the so-called ''strun'' trout by Karaman (1936). After this, till present time, all authors marked ''strun'' as a Salmo dentex species, different from Salmo trutta species, but nobody conduct the comparative and phylogenetic analysis of those two species. Based on Mt DNA control region and exon 13 of transfferine gene data set as well as some field investigations and observes it seams that ''strun'' - Salmo dentex in Montenegro is one population of Salmo trutta with specific migration instinct.
